AMD Radeon Vega GPU Power Connectors Revealed

We first saw the Vega graphics card at CES 2017, but at that time we only saw the front left side and the right side was covered by black tape to hide the power connectors. Now at the AMD Ryzen launch event, the demo system was running a Radeon Vega graphics card with an AMD Ryzen 7-1800X. The Vega 10 card was running on a reference air-cooler and draws power from a combination of 8-pin and 6-pin PCIe power connectors. Interestingly the card has LED indicators for connector inputs to show which connector is drawing power. As you can see in the picture down below, the card only drawing power from the 8-pin connector. “Could this indicate that AMD is making sure users are aware that the card isn’t drawing power from both connectors all the time?”
