Radeon R9 Nano is about to launch and, AMD Announces that it’s going to split its GPU division as “Radeon Technologies Group”, although it completed nine years into the graphic processor after purchasing ATI in 2009.
AMD wants it, GPU division “Radeon Technologies” to Completely Focus on the GPU development under Gaming and Virtual Reality, Said CEO Lisa Su. The GPU division will under Raja Koduri who is Senior Vice President and Chief Architect of AMD and the brain behind the GPU technology.
In a press release highlighting the move Lisa Su said, “With the creation of the Radeon Technologies Group we are putting in place a more agile, vertically-integrated graphics organization focused on solidifying our position as the graphics industry leader, recapturing profitable share across traditional graphics markets, and staking leadership positions in new markets such as virtual and augmented reality.”
Interestingly, the GPU Market is been down side when compared to NVIDIA, so it looks like the division of the GPU division would make AMD be at safer side than being part of it.
