ASUS ROG STRIX Radeon RX 580 OC Review

Even though, the RX580 just a rebrand of RX 480 with higher clock speeds, still ASUS has made enough improvements to justify to get ROG STRIX RX 580 OC over same STRIX RX 480 model. The biggest complain we had with STRIX RX 480 was it’s not as quiet as other ROG STRIX card we tested, ASUS has noticed our complaints, and the new ROG STRIX RX 580 comes with a much-improved cooler that much silent while 4°C cooler and runs much faster.

The power consumption was one area where AMD behind compared to NVIDIA’s Pascal architecture. The Polaris architecture built on the 14-nanometer FinFET process, which is much better AMD’s previous architectures and ROG STRIX RX 580 OC draws 185W MAX, which is much higher than GTX 1060 6GB model.

So overall I think it’s an excellent card but the due to cryptocurrency mining availability and pricing are artificially high, so it is hard to recommend over GTX 1060 6GB, but if you are specifically looking for an RX 580 than ROG STRIX RX 580 OC get a solid recommendation from us. We are giving it GOLD AWARD.

ASUS ROG STRIX RX 580 OC is great for both gaming, or mining with a new improved cooler design and build quality.
