ASUS unveiled the ROG Crosshair VI Extreme AM4 motherboard

ASUS unveil a new flagship motherboard for their AM4 platform, the Crosshair VI Extreme. Which will be taking the place of Crosshair VI Hero as ASUS’ new AM4 flagship motherboard.

The new Crosshair VI Extreme is based on X370 chipset and will offer more features than the Hero board. The new board will feature more robust VRM power design and has some additional features like built-in 802.11ac WiFi with Bluetooth 4.1, temperature and flow rate monitoring and advanced leak detection for water cooling. Other features include a motherboard-backplate, ASUS Aura Sync and SupremeFX S1220 codec integrated Audio.

Performance and overclocking are inextricably tied to cooling, so we’re constantly looking for ways to improve thermal management. For a high-end board like the Extreme, that means supplying everything needed for sophisticated liquid loops, starting with a special header for monitoring monoblock temperatures, flow rates, and leak detection circuits. We’ve already partnered with the experts at Bitspower to produce a monoblock made specifically for the Extreme that will be sold separately from the motherboard.

ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Extreme motherboard will release in August with a $349 price tag.
