The GTX 1660 and 1660 Ti is answered from NVIDIA for gamers who wanted better performance and don’t want to spend money on ray tracing technology. Which make sense as RTX 2060 ray tracing performance was mediocre at best. Performance wise GTX 1660 offers enough horsepower for 1080p gaming and it is going to step up from the GeForce GTX 960/970 owners as well as last gen GTX 1050 but not from GTX 1060. I will also like to clarify about the memory as many of you guys asked about it, the 6GB of GDDR5 graphics memory which runs at 8 Gbps speed at 192 GB/s effective bandwidth, that exactly half the speed of new GDDR6 memory use on the RTX cards, we don’t feel any hindrance on performance as long as you stick to a 1080p resolution.

The GALAX GTX 1660 comes with an exact same cooler as its bigger brother RTX 2060 which we checked earlier as expected cooling performance was really good as TU116 didn’t produce as much heat as TU106 of RTX 2060 GPU. The GALAX GTX 1660 among the cheapest on the market with a price tag of ₹17,800 in India or $220 USD. Only one thing I didn’t like is you need to install Galax Xtreme Tuner software to use the 1-Click OC option to get the pre-overclock speeds, which I think the card should come with the full advertised clock speed out of the box. Overall the GALAX GTX 1660 is well performing well design card that doesn’t break the bank and we are giving it our BEST VALUE AWARD.
