Packaging and Overview
MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1060 3GB OC Edition comes in a well-branded cardboard box with the big ARMOR name on the front, and at the back, we have a feature overview and graphical diagram of the card.
Inside of the package, we find the card itself with quick user’s guide, driver disk (don’t use it download the latest driver), a couple of stickers and product register reminder.
The ARMOR GeForce GTX 1060 looks quite nice with all black design with a white accent color. The Twin Frozr VI with Torx Fan 2.0 pack great cooling potential.
On the top side, at the right, the card features a single 8-pin power connector and no SLI fingers at the left as the GTX 1060 not support SLI.
The display output includes one DVI-D, two HDMI 2.0 and two Display Port.
The Twin Frozr VI cooler is attached to the PCB with four screws, taking a close look at the heatsink we can see it has two 6-mm heat-pipes directly touch the GPU core for maximum heat dissipations.
Now, as you can see MSI custom PCB design looks clean and functional as well. In the center is the GP106 GPU core and MSI uses SAMSUNG GDDR5 memory, and it’s covered by thermal pads on the top row that touches the cooler plate, and the right side memory chips are directly under the second fan so don’t need any other cooling. A small heatsink also covers the MOSFETs to added cooling.
