Now Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 owners can host dedicated servers

If you are an Owner of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 then you can host your own unranked dedicated servers with remote management tools which can control your server from any machine.

For those who run dedicated/custom unranked servers, they can run the game with a list of a custom mod and maps included a large list of commands which can kick users, configure a map playlist or set permission on what weapons or other items can be used on the server.

Other options for custom servers include custom respawn timers (including penalties for suicides), custom time/score limits, player health/regen times and spawn protection times to prevent spawn camping.

A large list of console commands and game options are available to read on Steam’s Black Ops III Dedicated unranked server guide here.

“The unranked dedicated server will allow you to run your own servers, manage the content on those servers, admin who can play on the server, and much more. The unranked dedicated server can be run from the same computer running the game or from a completely separate computer. If your server is run through a server hosting company or simply on a different computer, the remote console allows you to manage your server from any machine regardless of where your server is running.”

This has been a long-awaited option for Call of Duty: Black Ops III and will likely result in a new spike in active players.
