Sharp showcases an IGZO 27-inch 8K 120Hz HDR display

At CEATEC Japan, Sharp has unveiled the IGZO, a 27-inch display which features a resolution of 8K (7680×4320) and refresh rate of 120Hz with full HDR color support.

As an 8K resolution, the display will packed four times the pixel count of a standard 4K display around 326ppi pixel density, and the refresh rate with offers HDR support, which means that this display will require roughly 16x more bandwidth than a standard 4K display, which means that this prototype uses multiple display inputs to function.

As we can see the IGZO display is very thick because of the complex control modules that are required to drive this display.

This display is only a prototype and showcase the new display technology which will come in future, but as of now we don’t even have a 4K HDR display.
