Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 has been delayed until April 4th 2017, for additional polished and optimization for all platforms.
CI Games has stated that this delay has been prompted by several hands-on sessions with members of the press, streamers, and fans. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is designed to be a whole new beginning for the series, adding several new features and creating a fully open world experience. Below is a quote from Marek Tyminski, the CEO of CI Games.
We’re making an ambitious game and unfortunately still need an extra few months to make sure it will stand up to the expectations of the fans. Our goal is to ensure Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 runs smoothly on all platforms, and right now we still have some important work left on optimizing the game.
This is our biggest project we’ve ever worked on and the entire team is pushing really hard to make the entire experience more polished. I really hope everyone will understand our decision and will wait the extra time to play something we’re excited about, and that will redefine our IP and the sniping genre as a whole. This is a new beginning for the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 uses Crytek’s CryEngine and looks gorgeous with full day/night cycle and dynamic weather. This time, the game will feature an open-world, allowing players to choice their own way to complete the missions, from traditional sniping to more stealth oriented hit and run tactics.
The game also features new arsenal, a drone which allows the player to detract, distract or hack enemy computers and equipment. As an open world game also features new fast travel mechanics and parkour/ free running system.
